Hi,
I am using Symantec VIP as validation and protection service. I have "VIP Access" on my mobile phone. This is what I noticed -
1. Change the clock to a future time (say 9:15 AM EST) and note down the "random" number (say 388511)

While your organization uses Office 365 for more productivity with the cloud, are you sure the right people—and only the right people—have access to Office 365? Furthermore, though Office 365 authentication is a good foundation, it’s also very basic.
I would like to use VIP Access Desktop on a Windows 7 thin client. Users profiles are roaming and are restored to a new VM at each login. Each time VIP Access is launched, a new Credential ID is generated making it impossible for a user to successfully connect to any machine requiring a security code because that credential ID is not registered.
Hi,
I'm setting up a new installation and have installed and started configuring a Gateway.
Authentication is working from a command line test and LDAP Directory synchronisation is working as the user gets updated in the cloud store, so there is some connectivity between the gateway and the cloud.
We are looking for a way to automate alerting based on events that occur in the VIP manager site, https://manager.vip.symantec.com/vipmgr/. Currently, this is a manual process that involves people logging into the site and downloading csv formatted logs from a specified time line. There doesn't seem to be scheduled reporting capability or a method for accessing this information in t
I am at a customer that would like to make their VIP installation as redundant as possible, utilizing their F5 BIG-IP load balancers. From the documentation, what I can tell is there is two components that can be load balanced,
1. Self Service Portal
2. Enterprise Gateway
Has anyone been able to sucessfully configure the Symantec VIP for OWA (Outlook Web Access 2010) running on Microsoft's TMG (Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway)?
Most of the various "Partnership" downloads/material do not cover this.
As threats continue to rise and attackers implement increasingly clever methods for stealing data, you need a trusted security plan for your consumer-facing applications, especially if sensitive information, such as banking, payment, or healthcare data, is involved.
Please join us for our next Hawaii User Group meeting at The Willows on August 25th from 11:00am - 2:30 pm.
Lunch will be served!
Good Afternoon,
I would like to know if instead of using VIP Access Push , is there any way to setup Symantec VIP Gateway to use Fingerprint as the second factor authentication?
Symantec VIP is integrated with VMware vIDM ( vmware identity manager) and we are using VIP as 2 factor authentication.
When the users reaches the e login page, the prompt advises the user "Enter the Enter your passcode" and once enter the VIP passcode it ask for VMware vIDM credential and user is able to login.
I have followed the Partner Integration for ADFS 3 guide to setup Office 365. I created the code on my VIP Manager to input into IAScript.js. Because I am not using out of band, the guide says I do not need to use the SSP information in this code.
We have gone through the Partner Integration Guide for IIS in order to implement OWA for Exchange 2010. Because our users are using the FQDN we cannot use Auth as Symantec strips the domain automatically. This means we have to use Radius with Security Code. We are able to make push authentication work but we cannot use OOB according to the guide. Has anyone found a way to make this work?
When we sign in to any of our applications that use radius authentication we receive 2 push codes to our credential. We have checked all of the settings on the gateway and cannot seem to find why this is happening.
Does it exist a REST interface with VIP? If yes, where can I find any documentation and the possibility of testing before buying?
Thank you
I downloaded free VIP Access to my phone and successfully used it to secure login for Ebay.
Then I downloaded free VIP Access for my PC so that I may have the same credential/code on computer in case I lose phone.
Credentials are different and I cannot find way to register/login to sync up the credentials.
Is there an option in VIP to set a group to bypass 2 factor? We have a unique situation where some users with access to a very limited VDI, however some power users have access to the same VDI (and have access to a sensetive system once on the VDI)... we are trying to find a way to enable 2 factor for them and bypass it for the other group.
